Hello Chancers!!

I am sorry it has taken me so long to get my fireplace update in the works. I spent the better part of a year trying to find the perfect piece to put into my fireplace. I wasn't sure if I should put candles or try to find a plug in faux fire log. I tried the candles but I felt as though it was missing the true essence of a fireplace so I started looking for a log.

I searched on Amazon, because lets face it they have everything, and found some great contenders. I found a log from a company called Pleasant Hearth and I fell in love with it! It is a 20" Electric Crackling Natural Wood Log. When plugged in and turned on it will flicker and crackle just like a real fire without the heat, which is what I needed. I used it for the first time on Thanksgiving last year and it was the perfect mood setter. Many family members commented on the life like look of the logs. The log costed $41 at the time and it was such a great purchase.

I bought a fireplace log grate at Lowe's Home Improvement for $15. I put the logs right into the grate and put the grate right into the fireplace. I did have a small space issue but that was my fault in miscalculation. Here is the final Christmas Fireplace!!

I can't wait for my next DIY project!!
